woah… not what i was expecting! explores themes of memory, mental health, identity, trauma. what happens when you let yourself go? how far can a person spiral?
weirdly familiar (very successful in emulating that liminal feeling). took a lot of big swings and was largely successful. it’s hard not to notice missed opportunities with such a multi-faceted project that’s been in the works for so long.
overall i liked it. made me want to play roblox <3

could’ve been good if anna kendrick gave up the dating show as a central plot line and just told the true story this is based on. focuses way too much on kendrick’s punchlines with no narrative value and no subtlety at all. liberal feminist nonsense without focus on the actual victims, everything felt like a set-up for her shitty gotcha moment “what are girls for.” heavy handed in the worst way. the last 10 mins made up some ground but the rest of this was self obsessed nonsense. booooooooo.
