I'm gonna get a lot of flack for liking this film and that's entirely okay! It's unrelentingly grim, almost undeniably sexist and definitely not an accurate portrayal of Monroe's life or self at all. And that's why I liked it.

The painstaking recreations of iconic photographs and Marilyn moments are jaw-dropping (there's a brief scene of Adrien Brody walking through 1960s New York which, if it didn't have Brody in frame, looks like it was shot in the 60s. I've…

One day I’ll work out why I so keenly relate to, commiserate with and deeply fear the portrait of a musician who, in the aftermath of grief and heartbreak, struggles not to be a horrific asshole and alienate every good person and thing in his sorry, circular, trauma-tinged life...one day...

Somehow married the zany energy and pacing of sketch comedy with a surprisingly empathetic focus on character and relationships. Fantastic cast, too - what an incredible use of Josh Brolin and Richard Jenkins.

Joyous, beautiful, affirming, and tragically hopeful almost 40 years on. I want to watch this every year and wonder what it has to tell us about how queer culture has changed, or not, since it was made - and whether it’s indelible, lived-in sense of play and verve is somehow a cause for that.

I absolutely loved this. Danny Boyle is in his 4th decade as a filmmaker and he's still imbuing his projects with enough fizz and humanity to frighten and move you with unexpected intensity. Each act of this movie is so different from the others, and yet it somehow coheres into a beautiful, thematically rich, engaging whole? Genuinely audacious stuff. Props to Garland as well; and, the whole cast are great, but Alfie Williams is particularly FANTASTIC, anchoring the movie with so much heart. God, movies are great.

Exceptionally cute! There are elements I don't like (the mum who smells love? blehhhh) but the central romance really worked for me and I liked the world building! and the fire dance made me cry like a baby at the end!
