Narrative was uneventful; I think the protagonist's (Chris) arc did not feel resolved. I think better movies with similar act-structures (maybe Aftersun?) are able to weave in more scenes that show the protagonist's internal development.
I like the supporting characters though. They're interesting foils that all call out Chris in some way. The household and community dynamics are very relatable for someone who grew up as a Chinese immigrant.
Great cinematography: very incandescent look and intimate shots. Loved the occasional dolly shot, well-composed stills, and weird cutaways—all very refreshing.
