This is peak Tom Cruise for me. Watanabe makes the movie and gives us all a reason to believe we too could change our destiny, or find some peace along the way.

Better than I remembered it being. I can’t help but love any movie that unlocks my inner childhood NASCAR fandom. There’s some good themes explored about the price and pursuit of fame and the merit of slowing down and being present.
This movie was ripe for sequels and I still can’t believe the direction they took when this film gave them so many possible routes (pun intended).
This was beyond delightful. The writing is sharp and sucks you in with a romantic back and forth that you don’t see with many modern films. Leaves plenty to reflect on with the art of romance. The second half has some slap sticky moments that almost took me out of it, but other than that I have no complaints. Can’t recommend enough.
“Where does bravery come from?” is a fantastic question to explore in a story and I enjoyed the journey through space with Gosling. He is fantastic and Pemberton’s score was the perfect accompaniment. I also will appreciate any movie that references Rocky. I’m sure I will find more parallels between the two tales as I continue mulling over this movie.
