I thoroughly enjoyed the films dramatic and disturbing adaptations from the book. (I’ve never read it.)

The masochistic romance truly horrified me to my core, and kept me in a perpetual state of unease. I found the use of leeches to further thin the blood of a someone dying from acquired hemolytic anemia quite horrifying. Although the scene itself was visually stunning.
