There's a lot to love about the craft; detailed set design, rugged, richly textured images, and incredibly vivid, tactile sound design set the stage quite impressively. But the heavy emphasis on ostensible gravitas in the storytelling and narration wore on me and seemed to prevent this from being a more interesting and engaging watch overall.

Very interesting, but I'll have to sit with it a little. It's patience-testing, the threads take quite a while to come together, with camera movements and repeated swelling rumbles and crackles creating a sense of foreboding that, for the longest time, is so vague it barely seems to connect to the story. But as it unfolds the objectification, the sadness and loneliness common to all these women and girls, something does linger. I can't say I really "get" all of it, but its atmosphere has a unique kind of darkness to it, the feeling of death always being close but never within focus.

Very very entertaining, I love the tightrope of the silly humor never taking away from the heaviness of the subject matter. White supremacists are so dumb it's funny, but the power they wield makes them scary; revolutionaries can act like idiots, but resistance still counts.
Several sequences that are just electrifying, enhanced by a great score. All characters feel more like caricatures than actual people, which gives this something theatrical.
