Very familiar all around.

Doesn’t introduce anything really new.

Uses all the established Alien elements with good visuals and effects. Great ending. The characters are a bit annoying in their choices. The antagonist’s premise is stupid.

Decent action 

Nice to see Saul beat dudes up, but the story was uninteresting and the villain ridiculous

Takes a promising premise and presents it in the most boring way possible.

Too much Casey standing around covered in a sheet and not enough exploration of the big themes brought up.

The aspect ratio screams pretentious. And watching Rooney eat that pie felt like an eternity.

Another unnecessary sequel 

They do an interesting angle with Ripleys revival, and there are some good horror elements associated with it. The cgi water aliens do not hold up. Interesting cast combo. Nice ending.
