Since around 2016, I have stood by my opinion that this film could only be bettered if Nicole Scherzinger (of Pussycat Dolls and The Masked Singer fame) was cast as Norma Desmond. Lo and behold, Andrew Lloyd Webber goes ahead and casts her in his musical production of the film; while I feel outraged that I won’t get the credit, I can’t help but feel so lucky to be around to witness this.
