For about half this movie, I was wondering why people were calling this "the darkest thing that Lynch has made so far!". It was definitely more horrific then the show (which is terrifying on it's own) and knowing Laura's fate definitely made the whole experience dark. But there's ONE specific moment, right around the 90 minute mark that my heart sank to the bottom of my stomach and I could only look at the screen in pure horror. I was…

binged the entire series with oomf. it’s good! not as exceedingly lore-heavy as I was initially led to believe and when this thing is effective, I think it’s *really* effective; the found footage episodes are very clearly the best of the bunch, with #3, despite maybe being a *tad* too long, effectively using its length to instill a real quiet sense of dread. liked most of this a fair amount, some of it a lot. the movie probably rules!

"They're not workers. They're my disciples."

fucking bone-shredder, I was expecting this to knock me out but from the first action sequence onwards this is absolutely relentless, only taking a breather to set up a third act that made me feel like I could tear a building apart after it was over. deeply angry movie, those headlines about Patel breaking bones and getting eye infections while filming this make so much sense because the manic energy is absolutely present in the final product. cannot wait to watch this again, my favourite of the year so far.
