A Disappointment. What I thought would be a interesting take on the realistic nature of armed combat, turned out to be a mostly tedious exercise in why story and character are so crucial. The last act of the movie ramps up, and although the ending is apt, it left me feeling cold to the movie as a whole. I wondered “What was the point of all that?”. In Summary: A refreshing new take on the MCU formula, with an emphasis on resolving mental trauma, isolation and teamwork. An interesting meta narrative about the role of the superhero, both within its world and how Marvel presents them. Nothing revolutionary, but if, like me you where exhausted by the genre, its stimulating.
