Another Monday another watch

And so we big in my summer movie Friday features. I started with the best camp horror movie ever. Eat shit and die Rick. Eat shit and live bill.

Gothic glory reborn!! Digesting this will take a few watches. I adored the framing with architecture and fittings in almost every scene. My jaw is still dropped for the absolutely insane amount of entire takes LIT ONLY BY FIRE LIGHT. From the disturbing sound editing to lush/restrained production design to the sublime camera work (gorgeous use of panning and dolly shots alone) it’s apparent that Robert Eggers is an occult sorcerer. That’s the only viable explanation for this level of greatness. 

I didn’t even mention Willem Dafoe
