Computer kept dying so it took me like 4 viewings. Really though I kept not getting up to go get a charger. But it wasn’t because I was so engaged. Just kind of a lazy movie that makes you feel lazy and tired and like it’s too much work to do something. Whether that something is speak up against a small town tyrant or getting charger from the table 6 feet away, it’s still something.

went to movie theater, sat through 45 minutes of ads for disney land and the hyundai santa fe, made in 30 minutes into movie (hilarious, bad) and someone pulled the fire alarm.

Tarpley (high) proceeded to sprint out of the movie, knocking children over, not holding doors for the old and disabled, leaving me behind... because she was absolutely convinced it was James Holmes 2.0.

Almost so good, great interviews, great archival footage, but why no labor historians? why no actually blaming the banks? why no identifying the right wing project of imposing austerity so as to discipline labor?

there were clips of people at the time talking about interesting things like the state preventing the city from raising taxes, the mayor wanting to nationalize the banks, the fuckedupness of the unions being expected to bail out the city, but the movie and its narrators…
