We watched parts of this in sports cinema a few months ago and I loved it so much that I booked robarts to make my friends watch the whole thing with me. Impressionistic is the perfect word to describe this. A beautiful use of camera to capture the artistry of athleticism. The film argues theres no line between the two. The shot at the opening ceremony when the USA enters and they pan up to show the ussr behind them. Perfection.
Kinda the coolest looking film ever I mean all films should be this colourful and this creative and willing to do everything production wise. Cool art direction, stop motion animation, great costuming, etc. the film does kinda lose me in the last act. I just think the sci fi stuff might be too hard to understand and the film just doesn’t really breath as much in the last act so it’s like WTF ok we’re just doing whatever now. Richard…
