Has anyone ever matched Gore Verbinski’s freak more than Sam Rockwell?

12 Monkeys by way of Everything Everywhere—super fun, super messy, but takes big swings in the middle of a screaming mob.

If the random quirks of Rango or Cure For Wellness turn you off, this ain’t for you—on top of a tone that alternates between punk and get off my lawn. But it’s such a fun ride, and it’s amazing to see Verbinski return to filmmaking with something this cool after such a long time.

Jesus, while I was terminally in love with this movie I was not prepared for the roller coaster I’d feel for the last 10 minutes. What a moving depiction of friendship and how we exchange parts for new ones in all sorts of metaphorical ways. Who needs words anyway?
