There’s nothing scarier than a grown ass man doing a full sprint Naruto run at you, it’s true.  

I feel like there’s something very old fashioned about giving 90 minutes of relatively unearned protracted slow build for a final act spectacle but it ends on a catharsis so funny I ended up digging it. Sometimes a horror movie works backward from its comeuppance and that’s fine.

Still one of the best to ever do it. Movies can do anything.

I've already watched The Omen and Rosemary's Baby and Antichrist and The Babdook which this movie assumes you haven't so I was mostly spending the way too long runtime wondering which movie's ending we were building to. Distractingly average movie that really wishes it was deep.

Ugly and joyless, woefully patriarchal, obsessed with vapid spiritualism. Dire time at the movies.
