Creepy is a fantastically frustrating movie. The first half of this movie is everything that I love about Kurosawa’s films. For your directorial debut at 20 years of age to be this good is truly impressive. Kane is going to be one hell of a horror director and I hope this movie gets him offers directing more and more stuff. I respect how reserved this film is. It doesn’t feel the need to waterboard you with exposition or explaining things to you like a toddler, and I think the overall vagueness adds to the experience. There’s a couple gripes I have with a thing here or there but overall they’re not really worth bringing up. Go watch this movie in theaters. It’s really good.
