tonally a very interesting mix of mounting dread + straight up stupidity but i feel like it worked for me? admittedly there are a lot of reasons to dislike this movie but being forced to learn about CDOs isn’t the worst thing that could happen

honestly i was really distracted by how gendered the sheep were but that’s because nasim and i were lowkey doing a butlerian analysis on our way to amc so that might’ve been a contributing factor

this was so unbelievably corny like at times irredeemably so but there is something so adorable about david corenswet as superman that awakens some kind of deep maternal instinct in me. also it genuinely included two of my favorite songs of all time which is insane frankly. i guess a superhero should be corny because what is the alternative

i could gripe about the 3 potential end points this could’ve had or how stupid simple the alien linguistics were but ultimately this was such a fantastic time and i did bawl. it’s tough to watch ryan gosling live my dream of befriending a cute alien who becomes your best friend but by the end of the film i believed he had earned it
