I went into this one with pretty low expectations. I like Jack Quaid and he's really at his Boilmler-ist here. He's charming and funny and OH GOD WHAT DID THEY DO TO HIS ARM?! Seriously, this Action/Comedy was gorier than almost any Horror movie I can think of. I was laughing and squirming in my chair. The love story was sweet and unexpected, just like the last act. Was I entertained? Yeah. A little grossed out? OH yeah.

I remember this movie absolutely terrifying me as a kid. Watching it as a grown adult person is still pretty unsettling but I actually found the story well told and would love to see this either get a remake or another installment in the hands of one of today’s more avant-garde filmmakers.

Solid piece of sci-fi action. Most felt very derivative but executed well and the cast is fantastic. Visually great. If I didn’t know better I’d have assumed this was a Neill Blomkamp film, seeing as it features a lot of similar story and visual elements from his works.

While not as charming as its predecessor, this movie is still loaded with love and laughs. Where the first film featured Toula as the evident lead, this sequel suffers from a lack of focus and inorganic transitions between scenes. All of that being said, I still had a great time laughing my way through this movie.

And, as an aside, when did Joey Fatone become such a handsome daddy bear? His handsome mug was worth the ticket price alone.
