including a lot of metaphors, niche authors and rhetorical devices doesn’t make your movie sophisticated or good.

i enjoyed the acting, to an extent. the plot was fucking terrible for a movie about writing. not to mention including a character, establishing her as a lesbian and then erasing her entire sexuality by making her simp over a 40+ year old man.

with that being said i feel bad for winnie, she obviously had a crush on cairo and got heartbroken.

only good thing this movie did is include jeff buckley but it’s being wasted on a wannabe sophisticated, cringey, poor-plotted movie.

puh, where do i start.

well the acting was obviously great, even from harris who i haven’t seen anything of, before. that’s what the two stars are for.

the plot is so disappointingly bad, i was in awe. no actual build up to the tension or the sexual parts; it felt all just so sped up and ruined the sensuality for me.

due to that the fetish scenes seemed almost unbelievable, laughable even. not even the great acting could save it.

just no, sorry. felt like amy‘s life through the media lense and i find it a shame bc it doesn’t focus at All really on her songwriting, her path to music and how she got signed. just poorly executed.
