My opinions on movies are objectively correct always
Tried too hard to be a movie that matters so it became a movie that’s just overtly pretentious which is what I expect from BJ Novak. Had a couple good laughs and a couple good scenes but it’s mostly just boring. Ashton Kutcher is really great in this though, if we had more of him it would’ve been better. All in all, 3/5.
Really loved the set design for this, and in particular really loved how the set told a story in certain scenes. Unfortunately the story fell pretty short. I feel like there wasn’t much direction here, with some concepts in the movie being the spotlight of way too many scenes unnecessarily, while others desperately needed more context. Top Gun, but if it was actually written well. Overall just a better story and plot, but once again Rooster is the only character I really cared about. Also, we definitely did not need another terrible Maverick romance that does nothing for the movie whatsover. All in all, 4/5.
