I’m fascinated by how The Adventures of Tintin got made, a movie co-directed by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, and co-written by Steven Moffat and Edgar Wright. Dazed and Confused doesn’t have a plot. There are no real character arcs or notable events. The movie is content to coast along on a loose, breezy tone, to just spend time with a likeable cast full of future stars. It works, and the short runtime flies by, with a phenomenal soundtrack that clearly inspired James Gunn’s musical tastes (I heard two tracks used in Guardians of the Galaxy).

My expectations weren’t high for Project Hail Mary, as the trailers made the movie look more silly than serious.
