"people laugh during this because they don't know how to deal with their fear!!!" nope, it's just funny. and pretty boring!

I love obscurity esp in the horror genre, but this and Hereditary didn't really have a through-line that made everything click for me. the shock value doesn't have enough substance to stick and the characters feel kinda throwaway aside from Dani. I think it's an interesting cult movie, but still don't buy that Ari is reinventing horror.

and the visuals didn't look THAT much different from any other A24 movie *ducks*

just as insensitive as The Rider and even more uninteresting. The “best picture winner to direct marvel movie” media rollout is going to ruin my life.
