itโs WILD as an anxious person to make a movie about your literal worst nightmares. the moral of The Moment is that art and commerce absolutely cannot coexist, and to be broadly popular you have to kill the interesting parts of yourself. however! the career of Actual Charli proves the opposite - take, for example, the existence of The Moment itself, an extremely niche not-documentary that i saw in a suburban multiplex. as a certified Angel i appreciated this; myโฆ

this is a terrible movie. it is deeply condescending and moralizing yet shallow and misogynistic, all at once. it glorifies stylized violence, and then refuses to own up to its own violence (seriously, you're gonna have a cannibal scene and not show any violence, but DO have a very long, male gaze shower scene with two models?). it screams about the exploitation of women, yet constantly mocks the character with plastic surgery and features the violent rape of 13-year-old runawayโฆ
