This is both exploitative and documentary-like in the best possible way. Hypnotic, repetitive soundtrack. A fascinating case of mixed auteurship.

When it comes to commercial filmmaking of this scale, I feel like we're stuck in an era of imitation masterworks. These are movies assembled with immaculate care and attention to detail to resemble the operatic historical visions they so wish to emulate. They look, smell, and taste like the real thing.
