i don't like this movie at all. it comes off as pretentious, for starters. the writer/director tried to ask "what if the woman was a serial killer?" (which wouldn't have bothered me if it were just that) and then added in a whole lot of misogyny, including the part where the woman cop gets called a "dumb bitch" for believing, at the time, that the lady was raped. also, very morally muddled cnc, or at least, what started out as cnc and quickly became more dubious as the movie went on.

i liked this movie, but in my opinion, it could've been better. the fact that the monster is a child eating demon almost made me turn it off because the concept was so ridiculous to me. the jumpscares were cheap, especially since this movie's genuinely scary without them. as for the ending (one kid in each family getting possessed and killing the others) - it felt anticlimactic and dull to me. i may watch this movie again, and while i enjoyed most of it, it does have its flaws.
