Beautifully designed movie and great performances, especially in the character Morwen, I’m not sure about how it was edited. I want to like this film but the end just drops the floor and so we’re left hanging.
This starts as a love story and just when you think they’ll be together, enter the cursed knight’s armor, which causes a rift, this was unique and remarkable.
Does our heroine give into the temptation of the cursed armor? No! We see her…
Christian Bale is awesome, he pushes himself to be a unique person with every role he plays. In this movie he’s a crack addict, a recovering crack addict, loving brother and a downtrodden boxer. All of which comes as a result of being part of a dysfunctional family of 8 women that anffects everybody close by. Amy Adams and Mark Whalberg orbit around this family trying to pull away and in a way they do. Not sure if there’s redemption in the end, but they’re moving towards it.
Different take on a “timeline” movie, the difference we see is tight and minute.
Overall great performances but the best part is the writing. The situations aren’t heavy, it’s how they act that’s gives this movie gravity. “ Robert, get a grip, control yourself dude!”. Excellent!
If you like Meryl and the first movie, don’t even contemplate NOT watching this. You need to see it. This second movie is more grand and we see the reunion of the first one, whose chemistry was magical. The actors were new to us back then and just as in real life, we see them grow in this film. Just as important however are the situations they’re in - they mirror what’s happening in our news. Great soundtrack, performances and movement, never a dull moment. Check it out!
