Anita is an entertaining film but definitely falls short of its Best Picture acclaim. The movie is repetitive, with excessive action overshadowing a thin storyline. Mikey Madison’s portrayal of Ani is commendable; her performance carries the film as she’s present in nearly every scene, justifying her Best Actress win. However, the film lacks depth, or at least it wasn’t apparent to me. It’s worth watching for entertainment, but like, you shouldn’t expect a Best Picture-level experience imo.

Nosferatu is visually stunning. The cinematography is the best part of the film—dark, moody, and clearly influenced by classic horror like Hitchcock and the original Nosferatu. It feels intentional and atmospheric without trying too hard.

The movie leans heavily into themes of sexuality and desire, especially the idea that female sexuality is dangerous or corrupting. That angle worked, and it gave the story more weight than just being a vampire remake.
