Monsters, Inc is probably the most acclaimed Pixar film I don't quite share the same affinity for, even if I can recognise it's craft. It's a fun film that showcases the studio's creativity and world-building chops that defined their early years, but generally I feel like it doesn't quite carry the thematic heft of the first Toy Story films or the subsequent releases that would come later in the decade.
