The footage of Gould playing Bach in his bath robe is the best part of these two little documentaries. It's also profoundly sad to consider him writing both questions and answers of interviews years before David Byrne played that neurosis for yucks around the time of Stop Making Sense.

I thought I had properly prepared for this, but I think I'm just gonna have to see it again before I can say what I think. What I can say for sure is this is the most alienating movie he's ever made with stars and I don't believe the people who made it with him know what they feel about it either.
