After watching the Italian Star Wars rip-off, The Humanoid, I decided to dip a bit further into that well. And with that, we have Starcrash. And as much as I enjoyed The Humanoid, this is just a much more enjoyable experience overall.

I want to say that this is one of the more egregious examples of a blatant Star Wars rip-off riding the wave of that movie's success, I actually want to know if there was ever a lawsuit for this one in particular. But then the movie is just so strange and ugly (complimentary) that it sort of holds up as it's own interesting thing.

Had the immense pleasure of attending an advance screening of this movie in theaters. Not to harp on Netflix as much as I often do, but it's such a shame most people will never get the big screen experience with this movie. I'm fortunate that I got that experience because the movie is gorgeous. I admittedly rarely watch modern animated movies, so my standards may be skewed, but the style is undeniable.
