The Moment

An inspiring movie about being comfortable with disappointment in impostor syndrome. I feel like a lot of talk is about how you’re building up something in your head, but sometimes you are genuinely doing something that goes against your values, that you wouldn’t have done if you had more time. But there’s never infinite time, you need to let those old decisions die and rot on top of you.

It’s a movie about being comfortable with selling out, relating lot…

So stylish, lovely! Feels pretty 90s for an 80s film. Great usage of Philip glass & a wild Richard Gere.

More cohesive on a second watch and a more traveled film diary. So many simply beautiful shots, the camera is trembling and passerby’s are staring down the camera, acting is nothing special, but the movie is. The editing turns what should be something straightforward into a surreal experience. Yet it’s enthralling, so many elements of film I love, especially in dogme, are being birthed in front of me with a quirky asshole protagonist. Still more cerebral than gripping.

This movie genuinely had me in a positive state for the first hour, it started out with character and just rebelled in mind numbingly boring shit. It’s insane how it never gains momentum, and actually loses it when the action starts.

nothing, except everything.

Hack short film but also an interesting reflection of Gen Z maximalist love, dripping with DANIELS fervor. It really bares its inadequacies when it’s boring and uses style without being stylish. But this is high school awakening, trying to have fun and make those movie memories. The director doesn’t have much to say because he’s young and hasn’t experienced that much? Yeah that’s true, but this is still art. The art of speaking when you can’t have much to say,…

One of the most thrilling movies out there, brilliant performances, characters that will stick with you, and an interesting queer subtext/obvioustext ??? I need to see more Friedkin.
