Rlly interesting of Safdie to so bluntly articulate the creative thread that runs through all his works / is the driving force of all his characters (in Marty's monologue to Rachel about him having a purpose, and how, being in pursuit of such a specific purpose, he has to live an odd life + make sacrifices).
