love the artwork, beautiful animation of chinese countryside. i always liked kung fu panda because i used to have a lot of panda toys. i feel like 2011 was really a high point of talking about adoption. like in school when people would sing your mum your dad the ones you never had cause you’re adopted. how cruel. anyway nice story.
the weird and winding story made me like the film. quite often when i’m watching other films, i’m kind of waiting for it to end, but i was engaged right to the finish. i used to get groundhog day and forrest gump mixed up in my head so now i won’t anymore. i have mixed feelings about jenny.
watching this has revealed what a wuss i was when i was younger. i used to be scared of this film. i was scared of the gas masks, i was scared of nanny mcphee’s boils and teeth, i was scared of the children punching themselves, i was SO SCARED of the bomb. i enjoyed watching it as an adult though i liked the synchronised swimming pigs.
This was good- a small look into the outskirts of the education system. I liked the really loud drum and bass that played and cut out in intervals. I thought Cillian Murphy was good at playing the character. Some of the people who were meant to be playing teenagers were quite literally 40 though, which took me out of it a bit.
