insane stuff for a first time 20 year old director. a really weird, offbeat film that i mostly rocked with. whenever it went full vhs, found footage style the movie was peak. i appreciated that Kane didn’t go for paint-by-numbers jump scares and really wanted to give depth to the world and characters.

god what a creatively packed film. every frame an overindulgence of color, every couple minutes a new gag, the film never stops being interesting. i love its mashup of tone and themes, with some of the best bits i’ve seen in a while. it almost reaches sinners level of creative inspiration for totally different reasons. i think what holds it back is its cartoon logic can be so absurd that i feel arm’s length with the film and its characters.…
