One of my favorites of the year. Great portrayal of an ordinary man surviving in a tough, but peaceful life. William H. Macy has a great performance here. I feel like I could listen to his character tell stories all night by the fire. 

Joel Edgerton plays a great heartbreaking character. Really made me think about how many lost stories are out there of people who lived their lives without having families to carry their name to future generations.

I’m always a sucker for any kind of war film. I realized I had never learned much about Churchill. This film is much more about the British politics at the begging of the war. Highly entertaining, great acting by Gary Oldman, and wonderful waving of tissues. 

Loved the first ten minutes of the film with the Joe Wright making the audience patiently wait to reveal Churchill. Cinematography was really well done. Lots of fun lighting and framing that enhanced the…
