Brutal, harrowing and one that will stay in the mind for a while.
Highlighting the stark reality of conflict and religious war this really was an incredible story which was beautifully directed in some great landscapes.
Throughout I was gripped and loved the cross over between the two stories as they intertwine and slowly unravel what happened to Nawal. She just can't catch a break.

Some great performances also, I am putting this straight to a 5 banger.

A beautifully shot film from Sam Mendez which really makes you feel for the protagonist of the movie. When will this poor bastard get a break. I felt that although it wasn't particularly fast paced throughout, the moments that were really captured the tension and fear/bravery of the young soldier.

The one shot concept is great aswell and felt that it had its own unique story aswell instead of focusing just on the battle or how the English advanced. Definitely…

Never has a film made stressed me out so much. An incredible hard-hitting tale about a teacher wrongly accused of sexually abusing his friends daughter and how one lie can catalyse him into hell.

Mads Mikkelsen proving how far his talent goes. Every scene is beautifully shot and every word on a knife edge. I can't think of many better performances than this.

The scene in the church is one of the saddest scenes ever. Definitely classing this as a Christmas film too.

A teachers nightmare......

Just pure beauty from start to finish. There's not a man on this earth that doesn't think that Arnie's body is outrageous.
The music from Horner is awesome too. There's Something about the 80s which just kept on producing beautiful action films and this is one of them.

Let off some steam...Bennett.
