maybe not the movie for me to go in completely blind with no context for what its about... but as always i love when movies and art push me to learn more about something i have no knowledge about so readings/researchings on brazilian history will be had very soon. i love being a historian. amazing casting and performances all around, delicious production/costume design + location scouting, and that end credits sequence put such a big smile on my face

a dense, utterly moving picture... requires a rewatch before i can even begin to articulate my thoughts on it (partially coz the theater was so fucking cold it made it hard to even think.)
