The median of a 4.5* first half and a 1.5* second half.
I loved how it spends time on mundane instances and transitions, focusing on the function of each scene to draw conclusions about the form (fitting for a movie about brutalism). It’s harder for me to digest themes when it’s a movie about a real guy and real things that happened to him, but a scalding review of the American dream and a guy turning the most painful project of his life into a legacy-making monument to the love he and his wife shared are morals I’ll eat up everytime.
