“party girl” “complex female protagonist” mumblecore is probably an oversaturated and insufferable genre to many, but the stylistic choices in editing, aspect ratio, and sound design set this apart amongst the sea of manic pixie dream girl movies.
as a lover of character-based, stylish films this was right up my alley.
but, i hope this doesn’t get overshadowed by charli because pete ohs’ editing and overall rhythm is so strong — like so strong…
