I didn't give this nearly enough credit for the insanity and tactility of its action sequences. The hospital sequence belongs in the Louvre. A great tragedy for the art of cinema that John Woo went to Hollywood after making this.

Very fun documentary. Takes a universally known topic and approaches it from the oddest, funniest, most sobering angles. People reenacting their own stories is the most charming thing.

I’ve long believed the test of a good Superman movie is if you want to give Superman a big hug. Passes the test! Gratifying to finally see a Superman movie that understands the character. I mostly agree with the fatigue of seeing these super-characters being rebooted a thousand times over. But for all their variations we haven’t gotten a good Superman since the 70s.
It’s messy with all the setting up of a new DC universe. But every scene with the core group of characters are beautifully done. Very happy to see millions of dollars of visual effects used towards Superman saving a squirrel.
Coolest movie ever.
I remember watching the first Puss in Boots in theatres when I was 10. Even at that age I was underwhelmed. Now we've got this, a dreamworks sequel to a Shrek spinoff. And it's the most expressive, exciting and emotionally grounded piece of animation since Spider-Verse. Gonna have to reupload the Pinocchio video and put this in the top spot. That Cricket cameo made my year.
