Ryan Gosling continues to prove just how effortlessly charming he is. Project Hail Mary is what a summer blockbuster should be: a crowd-pleasing sci-fi epic that doesn’t ask you to think too hard, just sit back and enjoy the ride. Ryland Grace (Gosling) is tasked, or forced, with saving Earth from a mysterious substance draining the sun. Along the way, he meets an alien he dubs “Rocky,” who’s facing the same mission for his own planet.

Holy shit. This felt like what Eddington was trying to be. The story moved fast and had a constant undertone of chaos and anxiety. DiCaprio kills it as always and Sean Penn as Lockjaw was fantastic. He was incredibly threatening and also mesmerizing. The real standout though was Chase Infiniti. She knocked it out of the park with her portrayal as DiCaprio's daughter. I was shocked to find out this is her debut role. Amazing.
