Hell of a Summer is a slasher comedy with an emphasis on the comedy. The midnight madness crowd went absolutely nuts for this one, its hard to state how much funnier a movie is when a massive audience is howling in unison and everyone is keyed into its specific gen-z humor and camp. This is the ‘Gray Man’ creature feature that finally features the creature to the extent I think it deserves, in a packed 93 min that thrills and dazzles from start to end. I’ve never seen something that delivers on the actual creature of the alien, specifically the Gray Man stereotype, so well with so much. It’s featured from beginning to end, giving every old cliche you can think of new life.
