I called your name and understood I was alone.

Multiple scenes in this made me tear up, but the scene in which The Creature shares berries with a wild deer really got to me. These are his first moments in the world, and his first instinct is to share and join his fellow being in solemn communion. At this point in the story, mind you, The Creature essentially has the mind of a toddler. Tears!

It's really not that hard, guys. We make the world so much more cruel than it ever needs to be. All we have is each other.

SUNDANCE 2025, FILM NO. 13

Between this and David Osit's PREDATORS, Sundance '25 weirdly programmed two excellent documentaries about the consequences of consuming en masse any and all types of true crime drivel. Neither of these films is denigrating the work of the filmmakers or shaming the viewer, but each is examining how formulaic this cottage industry has always been and the potential for damage it has societally and psychologically.

Obviously, this crime is atrocious and the handling of it on a judicial level is laughable. That being said, take a shot every time someone pronounces "juror" differently.
