Average seneca creek state park experience tbh
It made perfect sense when I learned Mary Bronstein is married to the writer of Safdie movies. This is a Safdie movie for mothers.
A lot of interesting (and great) camera choices that I don’t want to give away!
Sometimes I’ll see a movie that makes me remember how lucky I am to be living in a time where I can just casually walk into a theater and see something truly incredible.
“Words of encouragement!”
I’ll point to this movie when film bros say movies have to be really graphic and violent in order to push boundaries or make real commentary.
There’s a lot of uncomfortable concepts that can be explored well by just talking about them on screen. The writing (and especially the editing) really shine here.
I wish more movies were edited like this one was, it was really engaging.
