Guadagnino has achievied something incredible here.
He already proved in A bigger Splash, Call me by your name, and later in Queer (the Mexico segments) that he knows how to direct that certain summery, romantic tenderness, a quality I otherwise only find in Eric Rohmer's films. But here, he takes takes this feeling to the extreme while simultaneously infusing the film with a completely new, pulsating energy.
It's ambitious, fast and sexy. Everything a great movie has to be.
