Frank Ocean Self Control needle drop is insane, albeit short lived. This was by farrrr my most anticipated release this year and it wasn’t disappointing in the slightest. It didn’t change my life but I’m so grateful this exists and I can’t wait to rewatch this some time down the line.
Gosh this is such a touching and viscerally relatable take on such queer coming-of-age and it’s not really often that you get to see gay movies with a black lead. Saw this for the first time 10 years ago and wow am I glad to have watched this now being more mature; much of the nuance was lost on me at 14. This is so, so special and I hope everyone goes out to see this in theaters this weekend…
