“Just happy as peaches to watch your heavy heart go pop pop.”

Away from the memes and discourse, I enjoyed this even more. Just a well done procedural blended with just enough supernatural shenanigans to satisfy as a horror film. A really wonderfully shot film, so much great sinister imagery and nice colors. I also love when the score levels are varied: sometimes it’s overwhelming, sometimes it’s barely audible.

Special Agent Lee Harker, my autistic OCD queen. She’s basically me…

Things I love about Queen Freak Julia Cotton:

• Her fashion and make-up choices
• A hammer being her weapon of choice
• She loves putting fingers in her mouth
• Too horny to care

Things I love about Sassy Pants Kirsty Cotton

• Her drunk facial expressions
• Ready to offer up Frank’s soul immediately
• Over Pinhead’s shit
• The way she snatches the box away from Steve Lamp when he tries to steal her finale shine

Idk man, maybe don’t drink water from the butthole-shaped pit? This movie is a lot of promise and set-up that’s rarely paid off. The script feels like a first draft where neither the relationship, nor the horror was fleshed out. The body horror is the biggest let down, this movie is ridiculously tame for its premise. The fact it cuts away from what would be the goriest scene kinda pissed me off.

There were so many opportunities for body melding…

Ranking of the segments:

1. No Wake/The VII (Mike P. Nelson)
2. God of Death (Gigi Saul Guerrero)
3. TKNOGD (Natasha Kermani)
4. Dreamkill (Scott Derickson)
5. Total Copy (David Bruckner)

While not as thematically cohesive as ‘99, these segments brought a lot of creativity. Interesting the two more seasoned/well-known directors had the weaker segments and the wrap-around continues to be the toughest task for the series
