Yearning
I sleep and I dream...
That he’s here
Touching me
Filling my senses with his scent
Loving me
Making me feel complete
Like none before
And then I wake
And he’s gone
Like he was never here
But he was
Once
Before I let him go.
Now he’s out there
Somewhere
Making a difference
And I’m still here
Alone
Wishing I’d been enough
Knowing I wasn’t;
The wonders of the universe beyond compare
To him
My Daniel.
I gave him my blessing
My pain
Obscured by a smile
A lifetime ago
