Three Weeks for DW - Character Prompt
Apr. 25th, 2022 06:02 pmUpdate: All questions are now answered! I really had a lot of fun with this - thank you so much to everyone who posted questions!! :)
I'm still new and not entirely sure how this works, lol, but I noticed this prompt from
goodbyebird on
3weeks4dreamwidth and I really liked the idea, so I've made a list of 15 characters. If you're interested, post questions in the comments (examples included in the copied prompt below), and I'll answer the questions before the end of the three weeks!
Additionally, just to avoid from any accidental awkwardness, everyone on my list is an adult.
Shockingly, they are not all from Dragon Age! In fact, 8 fandoms are represented (more or less depending on whether you count sequels/spin-offs separately). I picked fairly randomly, just characters that came to mind as favorites, then randomized that list so there's no particular order.

1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. - Check!
2) Ask your f-list to post questions in the comments.- Please? :)
For example: "One, nine, and fifteen are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from four. Do they succeed?", "Under what circumstances might five and fourteen fall in love?", "Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?"

3) After your f-list has stopped asking questions, round them up and answer them using the fifteen characters you selected beforehand, then post them.

Date: 2022-04-25 10:14 pm (UTC)If four and eleven were stranded on a deserted island, what do you think would happen?
If two, eight and fourteen went on a road trip, where would they go? What kind of shenanigans might happen? Would they end up killing each other?
If three, six and nine ran a small business together...
Date: 2022-05-14 05:14 pm (UTC)I wasn’t too worried at first - Geralt and Cullen, two warriors, I can work with that - and then suddenly Anders. Of course it was Anders! I got a little carried away with this one, lol.
Geralt and Cullen had never quite gotten on, despite outward appearances. They were both warriors, they highly valued justice, and both had augmented abilities suited to hunt even the most dangerous of bounties. The Wolf’s Mane were a highly sought after team when it came to bringing criminals to justice and freeing innocents from the scourge of monsters.
But none of that entirely made up for the fact that Geralt frequently consorted with mages. He sometimes groused about them, often grunted and scowled, but still, if he wasn’t hunting, he was pining over a female mage. Pity he was back with the raven-haired one - she was particularly unpredictable, always a dangerous feature for one of their kind. But even Cullen had to admit, this little partnership worked well. In most cases, bounty hunting required working with the authorities, and Cullen had been in the system for a long time and was well suited to work with such organizations. When…other contracts came about, more secretive ones that tended to involve royals or illicit relationships or curses, Geralt could take the lead.
And then Cullen found himself tracking a Grey Warden who had abandoned his post. Simple enough - find this ‘Frederick’ and bring him to his superiors and whatever justice they deemed fit for a deserter.
Therefore, while he had been suspicious when the leads guided them to a pellar - just the sort of cover a hedge mage might use - he’d never have guessed the man they were hunting was the terrorist who’d blown up the Kirkwall Chantry.
This was one of those times Cullen had wished he had come alone. Anders spun a sob story, as many tried to do. He emphasized how it was only his new Commander that forced him to leave, that the man was cruel, tricked new recruits into joining before they knew what they were signing up for, and regularly sent men to their deaths alone. His new boss had even taken his cat.
As if any Warden would have brought a cat along in the first place.
Nothing like the previous Warden Commander, apparently, one who had vanished without a trace some years before. That was who they should be looking for, Anders claimed. Bring him back and set the Wardens right. Make the secretive organization truly heroic once more.
Something about all the stories somehow tugged at Geralt’s heartstrings. He did have a weakness for mages, but the fact Geralt unilaterally decided they were going to seek justice another way this time was just so, so…argh.
And of course, Anders came along. He had been friends with Warden-Commander Tabris, if anyone could help find him, he surely could.
Tracking down the former Warden-Commander turned out to be such a dramatic adventure that there was yet another new Commander in place when they tried to take Anders back for the bounty. But this one wanted nothing to do with the man.
Why that made Anders a permanent part of their arrangement, Cullen had no idea.
But he had to admit, in terms of seeking justice? Anders was perfectly suited for the Wolf’s Mane.

Ianto takes care to make the most of their rations, find supplemental food, and is just generally organized while trying to figure out how they can survive until rescue. He makes sure Jack is taking care of himself as well, including the great sacrifice of keeping him warm at night.
Jack already has a plan to get them off the island, but is enjoying the time alone with Ianto pampering him far too much to bring it to an end.
And, of course, there’s a lot of ’dabbling.’ ;)

It would be difficult for them to agree on a vacation plan, but James and Garak win the vote to go to a beach. Only James would take a swim, but Garak would love basking on warm sand while Snape hides in the shade of an umbrella. The actual road trip bit would be a little awkward, with James taking the wheel and mostly staying out of any conversation while the two spies weave webs. Garak would be frustrated but more than a little impressed when Snape calls out his lies with such ease.
Any stories of chaos left in their wake are entirely exaggerated. Obviously Snape didn’t end up in a wizard’s duel in broad daylight (seriously, no one remembers that one); Garak had nothing to do with that foreign dignitary’s unfortunate accident (how could he know the man had a deathly allergy to peanuts?); and James certainly did not go on a drunken rampage through that pirate-themed bar (and he did NOT rant about any particular captain during it).

Date: 2022-05-14 05:27 pm (UTC)This is such a fun question - all the better for the bizarre pair fate has chosen! :)
Jadzia finds a popular honey and nut pastry recipe from Tevinter and decides to take it on with a bit of personal flair. After all, pastries can be filled with so many things - why not use it as the crust for rokeg blood pie? She gets a bit of help from Worf practicing how to make the filling authentically and is very excited to share her new creation.
It appears pie-like enough when she presents it proudly to Dorian that he doesn’t question it at first. He loves the crust, and while he finds the filling unusual he decides it’s a good amount of savory to balance the sweetness of the honey.
It’s a mistake to ask what exactly it is. Dorian politely excuses himself and mysteriously doesn’t return until after the dish is long-since cold.
Suffice to say, he doesn’t trust Jadzia’s cooking again.

Wonder Woman.
If 2, 8 and 9 went to the same school...
Date: 2022-05-14 05:34 pm (UTC)I was a little surprised to find this one just…works?
They attend a Strategic Intelligence Academy. Snape is a little too good at reading people and catching them out on lies, but that only makes Garak work harder on his obfuscation. Snape is the master of their counterintelligence course. Garak is regularly at the top of courses related to state affairs, as well as analysis. Anders is not very good at the secretive thing, but surprisingly adept at the courses related to management of resources and alliances, as well as their little Physical Education course that focuses on the creation and use of impromptu weapons. Snape and Garak are a little worried he might be seriously considering blowing up the school.
How could 11 and 12 meet?

Jack is messing about with his vortex manipulator in an attempt to extend its range. He was perhaps a little too successful, finding himself in a bizarrely medieval world - but with other races in addition to humans. He doesn’t exactly blend in, but finds himself somewhere called “The Pearl,” where his unusual attire doesn’t appear to catch too much unwanted attention.
Except one man in a corner, who eyes him most intently with sharp eyes. He’s got pointed ears and an attractive tattoo on his face, and unless this world has very different standards for undressing with one’s eyes, he apparently finds Jack quite intriguing. Jack figures he might as well involve himself with the locals - what better way to learn about this strange place, after all - but before he can make a move the shorter man approaches him instead.
The two flirt. Heavily. And they most certainly make use of the back rooms of the Pearl - possibly joined by a certain pirate captain. Having two captains dueling for dominance over him is something Zevran would find most invigorating and the entire experience is one Jack certainly won’t soon forget.
Especially since Zevran may or may not have killed him afterward. Jack was never entirely sure about that one.
