The June Something: Day 4 - 11
The questions are here. You can jump in whenever you like. I skipped a few questions.
Day 4: What are the origins of your penname/username?
Belladonna = Deadly nightshade. I first knew about the plant through the TV anime Noir.
Day 5: Compare and/or contrast your very first fandom obsession and your very latest fandom obsession.
My very first fandom obsession was Sailor Moon. I rewatched the anime and reread the manga many times. There wasn't anything quite like it at the time, and I was crazy about it. It lasted for some years until I discovered Neon Genesis Evangelion. That was the second impact for me.
I don't have a latest fandom obsession at the moment. My obsession these days tends to last for one or two months at most.
Day 6: What's a fandom that you wish had a bigger following?
Mostly manga that are somewhat niche. I like Girls Last Tour, but I'm not sure if there is much of a following to speak of.
I'm pretty okay with small fandoms remaining small, but I can understand the feeling of wanting to share your love for a particular fandom and wishing more people would discover how great this fandom/source material is.
Day 7: What's the longest time you've been in a fandom. Not necessarily your oldest fandom, but a fandom that you started and still continue to read/write/create content for in some way.
Harry Potter. It's a fandom I'd probably read the most fics for. It's also a fandom I have written the most stories for and still counting. The first fanfic I posted online was an HP fic (on Hallowe'en, no less). I have been in other fandoms over the years, but somehow HP is the one I keep coming back to.
Day 10: Drop your OTP or small ensemble from the fandom they're in into another fandom - how do they do?
It would be entertaining if the cast of Bungo to Alchemist is dropped into the world of Bungo Stray Dogs and vice versa. Same name, different people. I think they will do just fine in the other worlds.
Day 11: What would make you leave a fandom, or prevent you from getting into it in the first place?
Time. At some point the obsession burns itself out and starts to fade, or I become distracted by another fandom. Perhaps the source material has come to an end, and there isn't much to talk about after that or there isn't enough fuel to keep my interest going.
I'm pretty simple. If I'm interested in a fandom, I would get into it. If I'm not interested, I won't.
